D-207 Board, Teachers Speak On Hazing Issues

The teachers union president expressed hope for a thorough investigation; Board president Sean Sullivan said top D-207 administrators did not know of the allegations before November 2012.

  Both the D207 school board president and the president of the Maine Teachers Association addressed the Maine West High School hazing controversy and associated lawsuit at the regularly scheduled board meeting Monday night.  Their statements are attached to this article as .pdf files.  Board President Sean Sullivan issued a lengthy statement on the hazing allegations that have engulfed the community. They are spotlighted by the Nov. 19, 2012 lawsuit filed by a family that states the district, faculty and staff allowed their son to be sexually assaulted as part of a hazing ritual. Cut the crap - just know that there are teachers and administrators that turn the other cheek because they don't want to go the extra mile for a student. People are lazy and teachers are the worst. They would rather do something else then help out a student. I hope heads roll on this - face it, D207 did not do their job and they were not there for the students!!
