Morton Grove Park District Offers Diverse Classes

Reporter Logan Nielsen tackles a new frontier with an Intro to Asian Art session.

I do not know what to expect as I arrive at the Prairie View Community Center. I am visiting the Intro to Asian Art class. I am a little nervous, because I don't know anything about Asian art. Sure, I took art classes in high school, but those always focused on Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh, neither of whom are Asian. This is also my first time visiting the community center. I feel a little unprepared. As I enter Activity Room 1, I am immediately greeted with a relaxed environment. The instructor and the single student (the other student couldn't make it tonight) work quietly on their paintings. Occasionally, they stop to share stories about their spouses or children.
