Natasha Wood, 30, of Round Lake Park was charged with retail theft March 29 after an incident at a store in the 8500 block of Golf Road. A security agent said he saw her go to exchange some items while she had store bags in her shopping cart, according to the police report. She selected other merchandise from store displays and put it under the shopping bags in her cart, went to the self check-out and paid for some items, leaving the others concealed under the shopping bags, the report indicated. Then she left the store without paying for $174 worth of merchandise, police said. Her court date is April 28 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts. A former Evanston man died Tuesday morning after police say his girlfriend stabbed him with a steak knife during a physical altercation at a Des Plaines motel. Des Plaines police and fire departments responded to a report that someone was stabbed at the Polo Inn, 374 S. Lee St. in Des Plaines, at approximately 5:28 p.m. on March 6, according to a police report. Charles McGinnis, 51, was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for medical treatment of a stab wound, according to police, and was taken off life support on Tuesday morning. Christina Souranis, 19, of Niles was charged with domestic battery Feb. 15 after police responded to her grandmother's residence just after 1 p.m. The grandmother, 76, said she and Souranis were arguing over a sweater Souranis refused to return, according to the report. Souranis pushed the grandmother in the chest and scratched her on her right arm, causing a small laceration, according to police. In a domestic dispute, a 19-year-old Chicago woman reported that her baby's father picked up the baby to spend time with him on the weekend, and was supposed to return him Dec. 2. According to the report, the father did not return the child, so the woman went to police. The man did not answer phone calls. On Oct. 20 just after 11:10 p.m., a 72-year-old Niles woman who lives in the 6800 block of Harts Road reported that a man parked illegally on Franks Street, exited his Nissan SUV, walked towards her shrubbery and urinated. The woman approached the man, who she said appeared intoxicated, but he left and walked to a bar in the 6900 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Police attempted to find the man inside the bar but did not.
