Volo Woman, Two Children Missing The Lake County Sheriff's Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of Aneta M. Marsek, 33, of Volo and her two children, two-year-old Chevelle and Macenzie who is four-months old. The three have not been seen or heard from since Oct. 6, at roughly 7 p.m., when they left Marsek's parent's home in Wauconda. The woman and her children were reported missing by her estranged husband, Dan Marsek. The occupant got out safely, but firefighters had to rescue several roofing workers who were in immediate danger on the roof. Several fire departments responded to the house fire Tuesday, and smoke and water could be seen shooting out the roof.
Update 12:50 a.m. Wednesday: After receiving a report of a house fire at 4:34 p.m. Tuesday, the Park Ridge Fire Department responded within five minutes, according to a fire department press release conveyed by the Park Ridge Police Department. Firefighters found heavy smoke and a moderate amount of fire upon arrival, and had to use ladders to rescue roofing workers on the roof, who were in immediate danger, according to the release. The home's lone occupant had evacuated, and the dog got out safely and was later reunited with the occupant. Firefighters discovered heavy fire raging in the attic, and as the fire intensified, crews were removed due to the threat of collapse, the statement said. The main fire was extinguished within 40 …
Fire and police departments responded to the fire, near Lyons and Washington, Tuesday afternoon.
Niles Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Lyons Street, Niles, for a report of a fire Wednesday at about 3:45 p.m., police said. The block has several townhomes in a row, but the blaze affected only one of them. Niles police said the blaze did not have a suspicious cause, and it may have been related to cooking. No one was injured, but the residence remains uninhabitable, and the occupants are staying with family members in Des Plaines. Get Niles and Morton Grove news delivered in your email.
