This weekend jobseekers will have an opportunity to apply for positions at new restaurants and entertainment venues slotted to open next year at a job fair hosted by the Village of Rosemont at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road. Employers are looking to fill approximately 250 positions in a new entertainment development, The Park at Rosemont, for cooks, bartenders, servers, hosts, kitchen staff, security, door personnel, managers and box office staff, according to press release. Employers at the fair will include the restaurants Adobe Gila’s and Five Roses Pub, the bowling alley Kings Lanes and Lounge, and Zanies Comedy Night Club. Employers will be manning booths from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at a job fair at Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton St., Skokie, and organizers are encouraging job seekers to attend. "Show up, bring resumes and look ship-shape," said Deb Lawrence of the Illinois Work Net Center, an organization devoted to helping people find work. It's funded by state and federal grants. Some employers may conduct on-the-spot interviews, the organization's material says, and even make immediate job offers. The fair took place on Sept. 15 and was hosted by State Sen. Dan Kotowski, D-Park Ridge, and the Illinois Department of Employment Security. A wide range of company representatives were on hand from different fields including health care, manufacturing and retail. Along with the job fair, several seminars were held at the Community Center to help people find work.
