Man Charged In Niles Bank Robbery

The 73-year-old was arrested outside a motel in North Chicago Sunday after the bank robbery took place Saturday; FBI thanks Niles police. Told teller he had six months to live. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

  After a Niles bank was robbed Saturday, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and Niles Police on Sunday arrested Walter Unbehaun, 73, of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Unbehaun was charged with one count of bank robbery, a felony, in a criminal complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison. Dempster, Niles, on Saturday morning, entered the bank, approached a teller and presented a note announcing a robbery.  The note was written on the back of a Harris Bank transaction slip.  The complaint alleges he demanded money and told the teller that …
