Rash of Perfume Thefts
In three separate incidents, fragrance bottles are stolen. Arrest information is supplied by the Niles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Omar Kahled, 30, of Park Ridge, was charged with petite theft on Feb. 2 just after 5 p.m. after a security agent for a retail store at Golf Mill Shopping Center said he concealed a bottle of cologne worth $38 in his jacket, then exited the store without paying, according to police. The agent stopped the offender and recovered the item, police said. Police issued a ticket and said Kahled paid the fine on scene. $45 bottle of perfume stolen On Feb. 2 at 12:50 p.m., a security agent for a retail store at Golf Mill Shopping Center saw a man in his 30s wearing a gray jacket and jeans take a bottle of ladies' perfume valued at $45, conceal it in his clothing and exit the store, according to police.
