Twin Lake County doctors are contestants on CBS’s The Amazing Race this season. Idries and Jamil Abdur-Rahman, 36, are competing to win $1 million in the show where teams of two race around the globe searching for clues and competing in challenges. The brothers are both OB/GYNs at Vista Health System’s medical campus in Lindenhurst and New Family Center at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, the Daily Herald reports. Jamil will soon be moving his family to Barrington, while Idries is in the process of moving his family to Grayslake. Watch the brothers compete on The Amazing Race Sundays at 7 p.m. on CBS. By Samantha Brayer Ernie Halvorson, a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, and his fiancée Cindy Chiang are contests on the CBS-TV reality show “The Amazing Race,” which began airing on September 27. They were in fifth place after round four. The show next airs on Sunday, October 23 at 7 p.m. Halvorson, a project manager who lives in Chicago and Chiang, a brand manager, began watching the popular show in Season 1. Chiang, an avid fan, pushed them to audition for the show’s 19th season. After they got selected from the audition video, “one thing led to another,” Halvorson said, and the engaged couple ended up on the show.
