Veterans' Voices Recorded for Community Project
Interviews will provide future generations with the stories and deeds of World War II, other conflicts.
With less than a week until Morton Grove celebrates Veterans Day, organizers are putting the finishing touches on an extensive project to collect, document and commemorate the military experiences of Morton Grove's service personnel of all eras. The Veterans History Project of Morton Grove will open Sunday at the education center of the Morton Grove Historical Museum at 6240 W. Dempster St. "The World War II vets are ready to talk about it now . . . It's very emotional for many of the vets," said Mary Busch, curator of the Morton Grove Historical Museum.
