Man Catches Driver Who Ran From Crash Scene

And in another incident, three people jumped a man, beat him and painted his face and teeth in gang colors. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

  Martin Villanueva, 40, of West Rascher Avenue, Chicago, was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of a crash Nov. 28 just before 11 p.m. Police responded to the intersection of Touhy and Milwaukee for a vehicle crash. One of the cars in the crash left the scene and pulled into a nearby parking lot; then the driver and passenger started running eastbound on Touhy, according to the police report. A witness ran after the men and detained the driver, Villanueva, until police arrived, according to the report. Police said they detected the odor of alcohol on Vllanueva's breath, he admitted to drinking two beers and that he showed impairment on field sobriety tests. Niles Fire Department paramedics checked him for injuries and released him …
