Mayor Offers Condolences at MCC School

After an 18-year-old alumna of the school died, and current student was hospitalized, Morton Grove Mayor Dan Staackmann offered condolences at the school

  Last week, Morton Grove Mayor Dan Staackmann visited the Muslim Community Center Full-Time School to offer condolences. Students, teachers and parents at the Muslim Community Center Full-Time School had been saddened to learn that an alumna, 18-year-old Zainab Ahmed, had died. Earlier: Carbon monoxide apparent cause of 18-year-old's death Zainab, a 2009 graduate of the school, was an honors student at St. Scholastica High School in Chicago. She and her grandmother died, apparently as a result of carbon monoxide and a malfunctioning carbon monoxide monitor. Five children in the family, including her sister Amina, a current sixth-grader at the school, were hospitalized and later released.  Last Wednesday, Staackmann stopped by the school …
