Man Found Dead in Park In Skokie

A 53-year-old Rogers Park man was found dead near the Skokie Sports Park on Saturday afternoon. Authorities said cold weather led to his death.

  Cold weather led to the death of a Rogers Park man in Skokie on Saturday.  Luis M. Escalante was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. that day, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said today. The 53-year-old was found in a park in the 3200 block of Oakton Street, or near the Skokie Sports Park at McCormick Boulevard and Oakton Street. Earlier: Man struck by Metra train near Morton Grove station Dec. 14 Last year, there were eight cold related fatalities in Illinois, according to the National Weather Service website.
