Bartek Bieszczad, 21, of Park Ridge was charged with DUI March 3 just after 2 a.m. when police observed him driving 51 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 8600 block of Milwaukee Avenue, they said. They followed him and stopped him in the 8300 block of Merrill. Domestic Battery Arturo Salazar-Guerrero, 22, of Niles, was charged with domestic battery after an incident in the 8200 block of Elizabeth. Police responded to the residence after a 911 call at 1:39 p.m. on Dec. 25. When officers arrived Guerrero and the 34-year-old female victim were behind a locked door. After requesting the door be open, officers forced their way into the room. The victim had signs of being struck on her body, including her forehead, chest neck, left arm and back. Salazar-Guerrero was bleeding from his mouth and had several scratches on his face. Both individuals declined medical attention. DUI, Possession of Cannabis Charges Allison Madl, 22, of Evanston, was charged with DUI and possession of cannabis Dec. 22 after a traffic stop at 1:25 a.m. Niles police stated that Madl was seen swerving from her lane between the 6600 and 6800 block of Oakton Street. A traffic stop was initiated and sombriety tests given. After Madl was arrested, officers searched her vehicle and found a bag containing a green leafy substance and a smoking bowl, police reports state. DUI Arrest on Dempster Michael T. Ruben Perez, 30, of Des Plaines was charged with retail theft Dec. 18 after police found two bags of fish under his jacket. Niles police were called to a store in the 8900 block of Milwaukee Avenue after two individuals with open alcohol were asked to leave the store, police reports state. When officers arrived they found Perez walking in the parking lot and made contact with him. Police reports state that the officer noticed that it looked like Perez was holding something. When the officer removed Perez's hands from his jacket, two bags of fish fell out. The bags of fish were valued at $20. Perez also was arrested under a warrant for felony DUI.

Retail Face Slap Officers arrived at a retail store in the 8500 block of Golf Road, Niles, due to a disturbance reported by the 66-year-old male manager of the store, on Aug. 5. A 21-year-old Chicago woman reportedly caused the disturbance in the store, and when the manager asked her to leave she slapped him in the face with an open hand. Police later learned the offender suffers from mental disabilities. The victim chose not to sign a complaint and the offender was reminded not to return to the location. Disruptive DUI Suspect Niles Police observed a vehicle travelling 75 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 8800 block of Greenwood Street on July 31 at 11:41 p.m. The driver, Aaron M. Wishnoff, 32, of the 4800 block of Hutchinson, Chicago, was observed to have an odor of alcohol eminating from her, in addition to having slurred speech and red watery eyes. Wishnoff ultimately admitted to having three beers that night and was unable to successfully complete a road sobriety test. When was arrested, she became hostile and refused to get into the police car. When police were able to finally get her into the squad car, she again became hostile, shouting profanities at police during the drive to the station. Wishnoff also attempted to slide the handcuffs …

Nursing Home Knock-Down A nurse who works at a nursing home located in the 6600 block of Milwaukee Ave. told police a 76-year-old resident reported he was physcially assaulted by another resident on July 30. The victim reported the alleged offender struck him in the head with a cane the victim had been holding. When questioned, the suspected offender had no recollection of the incident, and suffers from dementia. Police continue to investigate the incident. He screamed 'Tase me, tase me!' when police arrived.
Police responded to a report of domestic battery on the 7600 block of Neva Ave., Niles, July 26, according to a police report. When the responding officer arrived on the scene he observed the offender, Christopher L. Phillips, 20, of Chicago, running out of the residence in a reckless demeanor, screaming “Tase me, tase me!” The officer requested backup units, and when other officers arrived the offender was handcuffed for his safety and the safety of others on the scene. Chicago man tells police he doesn't have driver's license and couldn't show insurance proof.
Traffic arrest Police observed a Dodge minivan traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the 7100 block of Caldwell Ave. July 28, according to a police report. The vehicle radar clocked the vehicle traveling at 53 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver, Victor M. Arroyo, 25, of Chicago, told police he didn’t have a driver’s license and could not provide proof of insurance. The vehicle was towed and a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer was placed on the offender after notification from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Arroyo was bonded on the Niles charges and held until ICE could pick him up.
