A 51-year-old Park Ridge woman who was walking across the street died after a fatal accident in Park Ridge, not far from Niles, on Wednesday.
Police and fire departments from both Park Ridge and Des Plaines responded to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Oakton Street and Busse Highway in Park Ridge on Wednesday around 8:23 p.m. When they arrived, they found a woman lying in the roadway near the northeast corner of Oakton Street and Busse Highway. According to police, Suzanne Palincsar, 51, of Park Ridge, died as a result of the accident. She was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The driver who struck the pedestrian did not flee, and stopped near the scene of the accident, police said.
