Cops: Husband Texts DEAD, Threatens Wife, Smashes Car Window

He also spoke of his knife and guns. In another incident, another woman was threatened via text message that the texter would 'make her life miserable.' An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

  Nicholas T. West, 32, of Northlake was charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage Feb. 11 after an escalating series of events. His wife, 31, of Niles, told police that she and West got into an argument, via text, about their relationship, according to the report. They have been separated since November 2011 and she has tried to start divorce proceedings but he wants to fix the relationship, according to police.  The texting argument lasted from 2:30 to 5:30, and after the wife rejected the idea of working on the relationship, West began sending threatening messages, with several including the word DEAD.  Get Niles and Morton Grove news in a daily email. Students Invite All to Protest Violence Against Women

Anyone can join the 'One Billion Rising' event at both of Oakton Community College's campuses (Skokie and Des Plaines) Feb. 14; they'll also stage 'The Vagina Monologues' Feb. 14-16.

  One in three women and girls will be raped or beaten in their lifetimes, Oakton Community College students want you to know.  To raise awareness in hopes of ending the violence, the students are joining people in more than 160 countries in the One Billion Rising movement for an event at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. They'll sing the movement's "Break the Chain" song. Performances of "The Vagina Monologues" will also be staged at Oakton's Des Plaines campus Feb. 16-18.
