Wolf, Coyote, Other Animals Invade Niles Library

Kids flock to see bad guy of 'Red Riding Hood,' 'The Three Little Pigs' and other tales.

Dozens of children sat for two hours, absorbed by a skunk, a groundhog, a raccoon, a coyote and wildlife expert John Basile telling tale after tale of wildlife rescues, until Basile brought out the star of the show at his presentation at Niles Library on Sunday. He was Juneau, a North American gray timber wolf from Big Run Wolf Ranch, an educational center and wildlife preserve in Lockport, which rescues many injured wild animals. Juneau, the smallest of the 12 wolves at Big Run, walked into the gathering of kids as tranquilly and happily as a beagle, seeming to bask in the audience's adoration. "I could drop him off at a preschool and go for lunch and come back in a couple of hours and everybody would be fine. He's just a big teddy bear…
