ReplyThat's because the judicial foreclosure process here slowed down "the big flush." Most states suffered through this already we just dragged our feet longer.

ReplyWhy is this taking SO long to get wrapped up? What happened to a right to a speedy trial? Why is a year of these kids lives gone by with nothing resolved? Let's get a decision and let the kids deal with the results and move forward.

ReplyMiserable? Miserable is living in California. I moved to Highland Park from CA a year and a half a go, COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. I have a great house in a great neighborhood, my kids go to great schools for free and I found a very good job within 3 months of moving. I LOVE LIVING HERE.

ReplyI have an answer to question #4
4. Why do we have a University Avenue with no University?
According to "Pioneer to Commuter - The Story of Highland Park" published in 1958 by the HP Rotary Club (page 177), when Krenn & Dato planned their Highlands development they originally restricted the sale of lots on University Avenue to members of the elite University Club of Chicago. http://www.ucco.com/default.aspx?p=DynamicModule&PageId=325134&ssid=219344&vnf=1

AND, those businesses that are now exposed should clean up their acts. The City should not allow them to be an eyesore. 41 is the gateway to our community, visible to many travelers that may, or may not, actually enter. As such it should be beautified.
