  • Ellie Davis:

I visied Niles, Skokie and Glenview libraries last week to inquire about how they feel sharing resources. They were very cordial and welcoming. Do come!

Teens are in the library without walls-all kinds of technology...

  • Ellie Davis:

No Teens in MG Library in Second Study: read "Library Without Walls" post, Triblocal.com in Morton Grove. Also see letter to editor in upcoming MG Champion.

  • Ellie Davis:

Library Board attendance Patchy Feb 10 meeting: 3 of 7 members absent. Bernadette Fahy arrived very late. Dan Hoffman chaired, and bellowed at residents! Awful

  • Ellie Davis:

Skokie, Niles and Glenview libraries welcome folks from all communities. My visits yesterday confirmed this. Thanks Suburban Library System, sharing resources!

  • Ellie Davis:

MG Library Board refuses to pay 83 cents per day per parking place on St. Martha Lot; contract for 20 spaces, the Library uses 30 spaces, reason for more rent!

Seniors voice your concerns March 8 at the open forum at the library at 1 pm . Seniors have wisdom to share! Ellie Davis

  • Ellie Davis:

Great Spaces at Morton Grove Library! Check out the west wing for large tables for projects, research, laptops. Two silent study rooms on second floor, as well as a large group meeting and conference room. Let's use all our Library!

  • Ellie Davis:

LIBRARY INCREASES ITS BUDGET 15.6%! Do we need another librarian with six on duty already? And more staff members? Where is fiscal responsibility? Make your voice heard. VOTE FOR A NEW LIBRARY BOARD IN APRIL. VOTE NO TO A NEW LIBRARY!

  • Ellie Davis:

Mr. Levin, the point citizens are making is that even $89/yr or $1680 over 20 years in addition to what they pay for library operating expenses is more than they can afford. They are satisfied with the current library and need money for other essentials.

  • Ellie Davis:

Real Cost of New Morton Grove Library $20,000,000 for a basic plan at 5.99% over 240 months is a total cost of $34,361,005.Divide by 8299 homes, $4140 avr per household, $17.25 per month and $207/yr. And this is the least expensive new library plan!

  • Ellie Davis:

B-PAC group supports keeping our current library and will run in April for Library Board. They are bright and dedicated to improving our library: Paul Berg,Cathy Peters, Mark Albers, Dr. David Calimag. Vote in April to keep our library, keep taxes down.

  • Ellie Davis:

Library Bond Guarantee? Even if the Village approved a bond for a new library, who would guarantee it? Not the Village. Their budget is barebone! Not the good librarians! Who then? The image of default is not a pretty one. Ellie Davis

  • Ellie Davis:

Day at the Library, Oct 28 It was a shiny day. Visited every two hours at the Library. Adults working on computers; need more space for this in reference room. Balcony empty all day.Ramp would help! Great spaces for staff, kids. Let's keep our library!
