A man carrying a backpack and holding a hammer robbed the TCF bank, 1 W. Devon, in Park Ridge today, according to bandittrackerchicago.com, a law enforcement website.
The man entered the bank about 9:15 a.m. wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, white long jeans, a white cap and black sunglasses. He is described as white male, 5'10 to 6'2", with a medium build.
TribLocal is quoting an FBI spokesman as saying the man didn't say anything threatening but gestured in a threatening way with a large hammer.
