Truck Crashes Into Home On Harlem Avenue

A truck crashed into a home on Harlem Avenue at about 3:50 a.m. Saturday, causing injuries.

Morton Grove Police issued a statement saying Brian Conan, 50, of Glenview, was driving a truck northbound on Harlem Avenue, then drove his truck southbound, struck a parked car and a utility pole, drove through two residential yards, and struck the house at 9046 Harlem.

Police said Conan was driving under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.

The house was occupied, according to the statement, but the residents were not injured.

Debbie Kim said she and her husband were awakened by a wall crashing down, and some of it fell in their bedroom, according to abclocal.go.com.

However, Morton Grove Fire Department paramedics treated Conan on the scene for injuries, then took him to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. He was conscious and able to communicate after the crash.

Inspectors from TPI Building Code Consultants inspected the home that was struck and determined it was safe for occupancy.

Police said specific criminal charges are pending until they complete their investigation.
