The Berwyn man told police he had been visiting with some old friends on Aug. 24 near a townhome in the 9000 block of Clifton, Niles. They were near Dempster and Grand when the four men drove by and spotted him. They began chasing him and throwing bricks and bottles at him, he said, then beat, punched and kicked him.

A bystander took him to the hospital, where he learned he had a broken jaw, which was wired shut, as well as lacerations and cuts. He identified the four subjects from a photo array.

The alleged perpetrators had a court date Monday for the mob action, aggravated battery and armed violence charges. Garibay and Jesus Terrazas have a court date Sept. 12 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts for the violation of an order of protection charge.
