Police Blotter: Battery, Theft, Deception

Miscellaneous mischief in Morton Grove.

Theft: A woman filled up her car with gas from 9500 Waukegan Rd. and drove away without paying.

Theft from a motor vehicle: A wallet and laptop computer were missing from an unlocked car parked at 6800 Dempster St.

Battery: A suspect grabbed someone's throat at 6200 Dempster St. because of an outstanding debt. The victim did not press charges.

Battery: Someone pushed a woman after she tried to bring her 5-year-od to the bathroom in the women's locker room at 6800 Dempster St. The victim did not want to press charges.

Criminal damage to property: An unknown offender damaged playground equipment at 9000 Belleforte by burning a book and batteries on it.

Theft from a motor vehicle: A GPS and coins were stolen from an unlocked car parked at 9000 National Ave.

June 20

Motor vehicle theft: A victim's car and keys were missing after a test drive several weeks earlier. The car was stationed at 9100 Waukegan Rd. The case is under investigation.

Deceptive practices: An unknown offender tried to open multiple accounts at 6500 Albert Ave. using a person's personal information.

Deceptive practices: An unidentified criminal took out two student loans at 6500 Albert Ave. and tried to open a credit card account with a victims personal details.

Deceptive practices: Someone filed a tax return at 6500 Hoffman with another person's information.

Deceptive practices: Someone filed a tax return at 5500 Lincoln with another person's information.
